EDITING & WRITING

Developmental Editing

Developmental editing takes a deep dive into the foundation of your manuscript, focusing on the big-picture elements that shape your story. This level of editing examines plot structure, pacing, character arcs, point of view, dialogue, and overall narrative flow to ensure your book engages readers from beginning to end. For nonfiction, it may address clarity of ideas, logical organization, and whether the content fully supports the author’s goals. Rather than polishing sentences, developmental editing guides revisions that strengthen the heart of the book—helping authors refine their vision, resolve weaknesses, and elevate their work to its highest potential before moving on to line editing and proofreading.

Proofreading & Line Editing

Proofreading and line editing focus on polishing the surface of your manuscript to ensure it’s clean, professional, and ready for readers. Line editing improves sentence flow, word choice, and clarity while maintaining the author’s unique voice. Proofreading then catches overlooked errors such as spelling mistakes, grammar issues, punctuation slips, and formatting inconsistencies. Together, these services refine the manuscript on a technical and stylistic level, elevating readability and credibility. Unlike developmental editing, which addresses story structure and big-picture elements, proofreading and line editing concentrate on fine-tuning the finished draft so it shines with professional quality.

Co-Writing Packages

Some stories are best told in collaboration, and that’s where co-writing can be the perfect solution. Unlike ghostwriting—where the entire manuscript is written on behalf of a client—co-writing is a true partnership. The author provides the foundation, ideas, or draft, and together we shape the manuscript into a polished, publish-ready book. This may include expanding on rough chapters, enhancing narrative flow, refining voice, or adding new sections that strengthen the work. Because co-writing is highly collaborative, these projects are taken on selectively, ensuring the author’s vision aligns well with my writing style and areas of interest. The result is a book that feels authentic to the author while benefitting from the expertise and craft of a professional collaborator.

Please note: I do not offer full ghostwriting services. Co-writing projects are considered only for clients and stories that are the right fit for my skills and interests.
